Brian Eno Urges Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a trio of producers and composers. The track blends a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all raising awareness for this issue and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
