Six Individuals Detained After €12 Million Robbery on Gold Refining Lab in France

A group of six individuals equipped with military-grade weapons detonated charges to break into a precious metals processing plant located in the city of Lyon, causing light wounds to five workers during what is being called the newest significant daytime heist to affect the nation.

The daring raid took place on Thursday afternoon, with law enforcement authorities rapidly detaining the alleged criminals and securing the stolen items valued at approximately €12M (£10.5M), as stated by authorities.

Five staff members of the precious metals facility sustained minor injuries due to the explosion, and three individuals were transported to hospital for evaluation, according to regional authorities. Twenty-eight employees were inside the facility when the robbers attacked.

Those arrested, thought to be seasoned offenders, were detained soon afterwards in the nearby town of the town of Vénissieux, according to investigative sources.
