Supporters Urge Detainment of Person Who Seized Ariana Grande

Passionate fans of the actress are demanding that a individual who breached a fence and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage depicts the individual from Australia pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being taken in", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to be present on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram account features clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over the Star's Well-being

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another comment on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos circulating online, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Many of Singapore attendees had queued up to meet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be released on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely bond between two contrasting witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and scored a dozen Academy Award nods, securing several for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
