The UK is ready to advance with employing the total value of immobilized Russian assets to aid Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the America.

British penalties have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government launched its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had only been taken from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Moscow's national funds to end the war.

He noted that additional measures soon would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This declaration follows European leaders met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump called on international partners to take or otherwise use immobilized Russia's holdings, as reported by news outlets.

The total of frozen Russian assets in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Leader Zelensky calls on Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to join the weapons procurement program

Moscow carried out widespread missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were fatally injured and at least 20 people were wounded in the strike, authorities in Ukraine said.

In a post on social media following the attack, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"The necessity is not empty words but firm measures - from the US, EU, and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky informed the press he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which Nato countries purchase weapons from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the United Kingdom's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce further sanctions on the Russian Federation.
